Beneath the forested slopes of Cold Mountain in Western North Carolina, Haywood County farmers grow hundreds of acres of fresh produce, shrubs, trees, and other farm products.  Thanks to fresh mountain air, excellent soils, and our farmers’ commitment to high quality, these farm products are among the best around.

Unfortunately, our farmers face many challenges, including high prices for fuel and fertilizer, cheaper farm products from foreign countries and elsewhere, and tremendous development pressures.

The Buy Haywood Market Development Project is working to support these Haywood County farmers by promoting high-quality farm products to community-minded consumers.  The project is managed by the Haywood County Economic Development Commission, and it receives support from the Golden LEAF Foundation.

You can do your part to support these farmers by asking for and buying Haywood County farm products and value-added products.  How do you know if it’s a Haywood County product?  Look for the “Haywood County – North Carolina Mountain Grown” label.
