Farmers markets, produce and farm stands harken back to simpler times when consumers bought directly from farmers. Everything from fruits & vegetables to meat & eggs, to jams, jellies and preserves and baked goods were available. Historically, these direct selling opportunities existed on farms themselves or within simple structures on the side of main thoroughfares. These were places where consumer-to-farm relationships were built and sustained.
