Asian Swiss Chard

Recipe courtesy of Chef Ambra Lowenstein of Kids at Work!

2 bunches of Swiss chard, cut into ribbons
1 teaspoon fresh garlic, chopped
I teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons water

Long-grain brown rice or quinoa—to serve on the side (optional)

Sauté ginger and garlic in olive oil.  Add Swiss chard, soy sauce, sesame oil and water.   Cover & cook until tender.  Stir gently, salt & pepper to taste.  Serve over cooked brown rice or quinoa for a complete meal option.

Chef’s Note:  Substitute other local in-season ingredients for the Swiss chard—such as broccoli, kale, cabbage or green beans—to make this nutritious dish year-round!
